BY TRAIN

From Naples to Sorrento, the Circumvesuviana rail line runs efficiently every half-hour from 5:30am to 10:02pm. It stops at Herculaneum, Pompeii, and Sorrento, with several stops in between.

CIRCUMVESUVIANA Trains Napoli – Sorrento

Tip: For € 6,40, the combined ticket UNICO – NA-6 will get you from Naples to Sorrento, and then from Sorrento to Massa Lubrense by bus (EAV bus Line A).

Autobus EAV Line A (Massa Lubrense – Sorrento – Meta di Sorrento): every 20 or 30 minutes (€ 1,50).

BY FERRY/HYDROFOIL

There are many hydrofoils leaving multiple times a day from Naples’ Molo Beverello to Sorrento Marina Piccola (35 min. € 15,20).

From Capri there are frequent hydrofoils to Sorrento Marina Piccola (40 min. € 20,10).

From Amalfi and Positano, during summertime, there are some daily hydrofoils to Sorrento Marina Piccola (€ 17,50).

BY BUS

Autolinee Curreri Service runs about 10 times a day from Naples’ Capodichino Airport to Sorrento’s Circumvesuviana rail station (1hr. € 10,00).

Autolinee Marozzi and Flixbus run one or two times a day from Rome’s Tiburtina Station to Sorrento’s Circumvesuviana rail station(4 hr. € 22,00). Tickets can be bought both online and on board.

SITA buses run along the coastal road between Amalfi and Sorrento, passing through Positano and Praiano, and connect the hamlets of Massa Lubrense.

The EAV bus line, which leaves from Meta, passes through Sorrento (on Via degli Aranci, behind the rail station) and arrives in Massa Lubrense, runs every 20/30 minutes.

Getting around

BY BUS

From Massa’s Centre, passing through Sorrento and arriving in Meta di Sorrento and viceversa, the EAV Bus Line A runs every 20/30 minutes from 6am to 10pm (with extended hours in summer).

SITA buses connect the many hamlets of Massa Lubrense, and Massa Lubrense to Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast.

Tickets for the bus should be bought in advance; they are avaiable in various cafés, newsstands, Tabacchi’s shops and tourist information points. The cost of a single ride is €1,50.

Only on EAV buses it is possible to buy the ticket on board with a surcharge of €0,50.

BY TRAIN

The rail station starts from Sorrento and connects Sorrento to Pompei, Herculaneum and, in the end, Naples.

With the purchase of UNICO ticket, which includes bus and train, it is possible to reach this places with a single ticket. (€4,30 for Pompei, €5,00 for Herculaneum).

BY CAR

Since Massa Lubrense makes such a good starting point, but there are only few transportations during the night, picking up a car or scooter here can be very useful.

PARKING IN MASSA LUBRENSE

The parking spaces in the streets and in the municipal parking lots around the town of Massa Lubrense, are marked by white or blue lines. 

Inside the white lines parking is free, the road signs indicates whether the allowed dwell time is limited and for how long.

The blue lines on the street and in the municipal parking lots are to be paid from 8:00 to 20:00; they are free at night. During the paying hours you can park there paying at the parking-machine or exposing the parkcard or the parking subscription.

The cost is €1 per hour, €8 a day. In Marina del Cantone the hourly rate is €3.

Parkcards

The parkcard is a coupon to be displayed on the car dashboard so that it is clearly visible from the outside. You can use it when there is not a parking-machine nearby.

On the parkcard you must indicate year, month, day, hour, and minute of the time when you park your car.

There are parkcards for 30 minutes and 1 hour.

You can use more parkcards to cover different or longer parking periods; the parkcard can also be used on other days from the one in which you buy it.

You can buy parkcard in every hamlet of the municipality of Massa Lubrense, in stores that display the specific mark.

Parking subscription

The subscription for parking within the blue lines of the municipality of Massa Lubrense is released by the Municipal Police (Comandi dei Vigili Urbani, Via Palma 3 – 80061 Massa Lubrense center | Opening hours: Monday to Friday 9: 00-13 : 00 Tuesday and Thursday 15: 30-17: 30).

Requirements: a copy of the ID card of the car owner, the ownership certificate and the certificate of registration of the vehicle.

The amount must be paid by postal order.

Special parking places for scooters are provided throughout the municipality of Massa Lubrense, and are always free.
